About the MEI Monthly Tax (DAS) Calculator
Brazil's Microempreendedor Individual (MEI) regime pays a single fixed monthly amount — the DAS-MEI — that bundles INSS social security contribution plus, depending on activity type, ICMS (commerce) and/or ISS (services). The amount is indexed to the national minimum wage, so it changes whenever the minimum wage is adjusted.
How it works
The DAS-MEI is made of a fixed INSS portion (5% of the minimum wage) plus a small fixed add-on depending on your activity:
- Commerce or industry: INSS + R$1 (ICMS)
- Services: INSS + R$5 (ISS)
- Commerce and services combined: INSS + R$1 + R$5
Assumptions and behaviour
- Uses the 2026 minimum wage of R$1,621, so the INSS portion is 5% × R$1,621 ≈ R$81.05, rounded per Receita Federal's published DAS-MEI values.
- Doesn't cover the separate MEI Caminhoneiro (trucker) table, which uses 12% of the minimum wage instead of 5%.
- Assumes you're within the MEI annual revenue limit (R$81,000/year) — above that, you'd move to Simples Nacional instead.
Limitations
- Doesn't check your annual revenue limit or MEI eligibility.
- Doesn't calculate the MEI Caminhoneiro rate.
- Estimates only — not tax advice. Confirm your exact DAS value on the Portal do Empreendedor.
