About the Receipt Generator
This creates a simple, itemised receipt as a PDF — the narrow, till-style receipt you'd hand over for a cash sale or a small transaction. It's handy for market stalls and small traders, giving a buyer proof of purchase, petty-cash records, or a landlord acknowledging rent received. Fill in the items and details, and download a clean receipt with no watermark, sized like a real till slip.
How it works
You enter the seller and transaction details and the items — each with its amount — and the tool totals them up. When you download, it generates a receipt-sized PDF (a tall, narrow format like a printed till receipt) in your browser using the jsPDF library. The result is a self-contained PDF you can print, save or send, with the text laid out for the compact receipt shape.
Assumptions and behaviour
- The PDF uses a narrow, receipt-style page rather than a full A4 sheet, matching how receipts usually look.
- Item amounts are summed into a total.
- Everything is generated on your device; the layout is a single clean receipt template.
- The receipt is a static PDF — what you enter is what it shows.
Limitations
- It's a simple receipt, not a full invoice. For line items with quantities and rates, tax breakdowns and billing/shipping details, use the Invoice Generator instead.
- Nothing is stored. There's no saved history, running receipt numbering across sessions, or record keeping — each receipt is a one-off. Keep your own copies for your books.
- It doesn't calculate tax as a separate line the way an invoice does; it's meant for straightforward totals.
- It produces the document; it isn't a point-of-sale system and doesn't process payments.
Privacy
The receipt is built entirely in your browser and the PDF is generated on your device. None of the details you enter are uploaded or stored.
