About Screenshot Studio

Plain screenshots look flat. Screenshot Studio wraps yours in a beautiful backdrop, adds breathing room, rounds the corners, drops a soft shadow and can give it a subtle tilt — the polished look you see in product launches, docs and social posts. Drop in a screenshot, pick a background, nudge a few sliders, choose a social size, and export a crisp PNG. No design skills needed.

How it works

Everything is composited on an HTML <canvas> in your browser. The tool paints your chosen background — a gradient preset, a solid colour, a transparent (checkerboard) background, or an auto-blur made from your own screenshot — then draws the screenshot on top with the padding, corner radius, shadow and tilt you set. Pick a canvas size (original, square, or common social ratios) and the screenshot is centred inside it. The preview updates live, and Export saves the exact canvas as a PNG. Your image is never uploaded.

The controls

  • Background — gradient presets, solid colours, a custom colour, Auto blur (a blurred zoom of your own screenshot, for a soft matching backdrop), or Transparent.
  • Size — keep the original shape, or fit into a 1:1, 4:5, 16:9 or 9:16 canvas for Instagram, X, YouTube and stories.
  • Padding — how much background shows around the screenshot.
  • Roundness — rounds the screenshot's corners.
  • Shadow — a soft drop shadow, from none to strong.
  • Tilt — a gentle rotation for a more dynamic, three-dimensional feel.

Limitations

  • It enhances an existing screenshot; it doesn't capture screenshots for you.
  • Backgrounds are gradients, solids and an auto-blur of your own image — not a library of stock photo backgrounds.
  • Output is PNG (lossless, larger); compress it afterwards with the Compress Image tool if you need a smaller file.
  • Very large images are scaled to fit the preview, but export keeps the full resolution.

Privacy

All compositing runs in your browser with the Canvas API. Your screenshot is never uploaded or stored.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool free?

Yes — 100% free, no sign-up, no limits, and it runs entirely in your browser.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. Everything is composited locally on your device with the Canvas API; nothing is sent to a server.

What can I add to a screenshot?

A gradient, solid, transparent or auto-blur background, padding, rounded corners, a soft shadow and a subtle tilt — all with live preview, then export a PNG.

What is the auto-blur background?

It uses a blurred, zoomed copy of your own screenshot as the backdrop, so the colours always match the image — a popular, effortless look.

Can I size it for Instagram or a story?

Yes. Pick a canvas ratio — 1:1, 4:5, 16:9 or 9:16 — and your screenshot is centred inside that size, ready to post.

What format is the export?

PNG, so the quality is lossless. If you need a smaller file, run it through the Compress Image tool afterwards.
