About the Photo Collage Maker
This arranges several photos into a single tidy grid collage — a quick way to combine holiday snaps, before-and-afters, a product line-up, or a moodboard into one shareable image. Instead of fiddling in a design app, you drop in your photos, choose how many columns and how much spacing, and get a clean grid you can post, print or send as one picture.
How it works
Your photos are laid out on a canvas in a grid at a fixed output width (1200px wide), with the number of rows worked out from how many images you add and the column count you pick. You control:
- Columns — how many photos per row.
- Gap — the spacing between cells (and the border around them).
- Background — the colour showing in the gaps.
- Corner radius — rounded photo corners for a softer look.
Each photo is scaled to fill its square cell (cropping any overflow), so the grid stays neat and aligned.
Assumptions and behaviour
- The collage is a uniform grid of equal cells; rows are calculated from the image count and your column setting.
- Each photo fills its cell (cover fit), cropping to keep the grid tidy rather than leaving gaps.
- The gap colour is the background that shows between and around the photos.
- Output is a single image at 1200px wide.
Limitations
- Grid layouts only. It doesn't do freeform placement, overlapping photos, mosaic/varied-size cells, or shaped templates (hearts, numbers) — it's a clean, even grid.
- Because cells are square-ish and photos are cover-fit, parts of tall or wide photos get cropped to fit; it prioritises a tidy grid over showing every photo whole.
- The output width is fixed at 1200px; the height grows with the number of rows.
- It doesn't add text captions, stickers or filters.
Privacy
The collage is assembled entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. Your photos are never uploaded or stored.
