About converting WebP to JPG
This converts WebP images to JPG entirely in your browser. WebP is a modern format that is usually smaller than JPG or PNG at the same quality and supports transparency, though a few older programs cannot open it. JPG is the universal format for photographs, with small lossy files and no transparency. You convert WebP to JPG mainly for compatibility — some older apps, editors and systems still cannot open WebP. The conversion runs on your device using the Canvas API, so your images are never uploaded.
How it works
Your WebP image is decoded and redrawn onto an HTML canvas, then re-encoded as JPG. Because JPG is a lossy format, a quality slider lets you balance file size against detail. The pixel dimensions are kept the same — only the format changes. JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas in the source become a solid background.
Good to know
JPG drops transparency (filled with a background) and re-compresses the image, so it is a lossy step done purely for compatibility.
Privacy
Conversion happens entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. Your WebP images and the JPG result are never uploaded or stored. Re-encoding also strips any embedded metadata, such as camera info or GPS location.
