About the Credit Card EMI Calculator
This works out the monthly EMI when you convert a credit card purchase into EMI, along with the total interest and the one-time EMI conversion processing fee most Indian card issuers charge.
How it works
Unlike bank loans, Indian card issuers quote the EMI conversion rate as a monthly rate directly, not annual. It applies the reducing-balance EMI formula using that monthly rate as-is (not divided by 12) over your chosen tenure, then adds the one-time conversion fee to get your total cost.
Assumptions and behaviour
- The interest rate entered is treated as the monthly reducing-balance rate, exactly as Indian card issuers quote it — not an annual rate.
- The conversion fee is one-time, added to your total cost but not spread into the EMI.
- Assumes the rate stays fixed for the full EMI tenure.
Limitations
- Doesn't include GST on interest or the conversion fee, which most issuers add separately.
- Doesn't model foreclosure charges for closing the EMI plan early.
- Rates and fees vary significantly by card issuer and merchant tie-up — confirm the exact terms shown at checkout.

Frequently asked questions
Is this credit card EMI calculator free?
Yes — free, no sign-up, no limits, runs in your browser.
Why is the rate monthly and not annual?
Indian credit card issuers quote EMI conversion interest as a monthly reducing-balance rate directly, unlike bank loans which quote an annual rate. Check your card statement or the EMI offer screen for the exact monthly rate.
What formula does it use?
The reducing-balance EMI formula using the monthly rate directly: EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1), where P is the purchase amount, r is the monthly rate (not divided by 12), and n is the number of months.
Does this include GST?
No — most issuers add GST on the interest and conversion fee separately. Check your card's terms for the exact total.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing is sent or stored.
