About the Instagram Post Resizer
This fits any photo to the exact 1080 × 1080 pixel size for a square Instagram feed post. Posting an image at the right dimensions means Instagram shows it crisply and doesn't crop or squash it awkwardly. Drop in a picture, choose how it should fill the frame, and download a perfectly-sized image — all in your browser, nothing uploaded. Posting a Story or Reel instead of a feed post? See the Instagram Story Resizer, which targets the full-screen size.
How it works
Your image is drawn onto a 1080 × 1080 canvas at the exact Instagram size. You choose the fit:
- Cover — the image fills the whole frame and any overflow is cropped, so there are no borders.
- Contain — the entire image fits inside the frame and the empty space is padded with a background colour you pick.
The result downloads as a PNG at exactly 1080 × 1080 pixels.
Good to know
The output is a lossless PNG at the exact target size. If your source image is smaller than 1080 × 1080, filling the frame means enlarging it, which can look soft — start from an image at least 1080 × 1080 pixels for the sharpest result. Platform dimensions change from time to time, so check the current recommended size if it matters.
Privacy
Resizing happens entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded or stored.
